Wearing South Africa with Pride: One Crown, One Purpose, One Nation

There are dreams that quietly live in your heart for years, and then there are moments when those dreams become your reality. For me, being crowned Mrs Face of the Universe South Africa 2026 is the fulfilment of a purpose-driven dream: to proudly represent my beautiful country, South Africa, on an international stage.

As I prepare to carry our flag before the world, I do so with immense gratitude, humility and purpose. This journey has never been only about wearing a crown. It has always been about carrying a country, a message and the people who have helped shape me into the woman I am today. I am truly humbled and blessed.

South Africa is a nation unlike any other. We are resilient, vibrant, diverse and united by hope. Every language, every culture and every community tells a story of courage and perseverance. To wear “South Africa” across my sash is one of the greatest honours of my life, and I hope to leave the international stage with people remembering not only our beauty, but also our strength, compassion and unwavering spirit.

My own story has not always been easy.

Like so many people, I have experienced seasons where self-doubt, challenges and life’s unexpected obstacles tested who I was. Those moments taught me something very powerful: our struggles do not define us; our response to them does. I chose to turn my pain into purpose. I asked myself how my story and my journey could help and inspire others, and that decision changed the direction of my life forever.

Today, every platform I stand on carries one message: your story is not over.

My mental health advocacy is deeply personal to me. I know how important it is to take care of your mental well-being as you journey through life, and I believe that feeling seen, heard and understood is key. Through my Crown Your Mind Foundation, my mission is to break the stigma surrounding mental health, especially among our youth. I want young people to know that asking for help is courageous, healing is possible, and their lives have incredible value. If I can help even one person believe in themselves again, then every step of this journey will have been worthwhile.

Another passion close to my heart is Landi La Fleur. “La Fleur” is French and means to bloom, grow and flourish. This platform is dedicated to empowering aspiring models, fashion and beauty creatives, and young leaders. It is a place where mentorship and confidence are nurtured, dreams are developed, and purpose is discovered. I believe that when we invest in people, we do not just change one life; we create a ripple effect that transforms families, communities and future generations.

Over the years, I have been incredibly humbled to receive recognition such as Inspirational Woman of the Year, Women in Beauty, and being honoured as a Women Boss Global Unity Woman. While these accolades are deeply appreciated, they are not the reason I do what I do. My greatest reward is seeing someone believe in themselves because they realised that someone believed in them first.

As a wife, a mother of two, a business leader, mentor, empowerment coach and now an international delegate for my country, I have learned that success is not about having a perfect life. It is about continuing to rise, even after life has knocked you down. Every challenge has strengthened my faith, shaped my character and reminded me that purpose is often born from perseverance. It takes courage and resilience to turn setbacks into comebacks, and that is what I live by. It is what makes me stronger and keeps me grounded.

Representing South Africa is not simply a title; it is a responsibility that I humbly embrace. I carry with me the dreams of every young girl who wonders if she is enough, every woman rebuilding after disappointment, and every person searching for hope beyond their circumstances. Where you come from does not define where you are going. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

When I step onto the international stage, I will not just be representing myself. I will be representing every South African who believes that kindness is strength, that resilience and integrity create leaders, and that purpose has the power to transform lives.

My crown is a symbol of beauty, but my purpose is to create meaningful impact.

 

As I journey across the world as your Mrs Face of the Universe South Africa 2026, I promise to represent our nation with dignity, authenticity and pride. I will celebrate our incredible diversity, champion mental wellness, empower our youth and our nation, and remind the world that South Africa is not only rich in culture, but rich in people who rise above adversity with courage and hope.

Because at the end of the day, the greatest title we can ever hold is not Queen. It is being someone who leaves the world better than they found it.
